Hadin Kai Troops have announced that they have in their custody another Chibok girl. The girl, Ruth Bitrus, now a mother of one, reportedly escaped from the hold of her Boko Haram captors along with her child.
Theatre Commander of Operations, Hadin Kai, Maj General GC Musa, made the announcement in the Maimalarin Barracks, Maiduguri, on Wednesday, while handing over medical equipment by the North-East Development Commission to support the military on Wednesday.
Musa assured that the troops will continue to hunt for other abductees including Leah Shaibu.
“You would recall that some weeks ago, we rescued two Chibok girls and their children, I will like to inform you that we have rescued another in the course of our operations.
“We will not rest until Leah Shaibu and other Chibok girls are returned and united with their families. We won’t rest until all of them are safely returned. Ruth Britus was rescued from Sambisa forest with her son,” Maj Gen. Musa said.
The return of Ms Bitrus follows the rescue of two other Chibok girls, Mary Dauda and Hauwa Joseph, who also escaped from the jihadists’ Gazuwa Camp a few days ago.
