Iron Mike Tyson, boxing once enfant terrible, has sent a chilling message to Anthony Joshua on what is likely to happen in the much anticipated rematch with World Boxing Organization, WBO, Heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.
In a no hold barred advise to the Nigerian born British boxer, Tyson said Joshua it is either Joshua takes advantage of his hooks and jabs to pile up pressure on and wad off talented Usyk, he may as well bid bye to his dream of reclaiming his lost titles as he will get beaten a second time by the Ukrainian southpaw.
‘…same thing is gonna happen’ in Usyk rematch if he doesn’t make two changes to strategy,” Tyson advised.
Joshua, who many believe, was trigger shy in his first encounter with Usyk, has grabbed a second opportunity to reclaim the unified heavyweight titles in a fight billed for Saudi Arabia on August 20.
In a bid to seal victory for himself, the 32 year-Briton teamed up with 14-time world champion coach, Robert Garcia, to devise a pressure-based game plan to dethrone the undefeated Ukrainian. However, Tyson insists his victory dream will fly away with the winds if he fails to master how how to pile pressure on Usyk, using jabs and hooks.
“If Joshua doesn’t know how to put the pressure on and use his jab, the same thing is gonna happen.
“He has to use his hook and his jab,” Tyson insists.
Tyson, who describes Usyk as a smart Alec, is certain that a boxer in the of the Ukranian requires a smarter ring pugilist
“Only the smartest win. That’s why that guy Usyk beat the s*** out of Joshua.
“He was smart, he was too fast, his jab was too fast,” Tyson concluded.
But Joshua, who prides himself as the “Come-Back King”, is sure the addition of Garcia in his corner, combined with the lessons he learnt from Usyk’s victory, is a victory wand for him in the coming Saudi Arabia Desert Bust-up.
