Aging Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear he wants to be out of the club this summer. That is if reports by La Repubblica via Caught Offside, is anything to hang on.
According to the publication, two possible transfer destinations are already lined out for the hugely talented Portuguese international who has nudged up an impressive array of personal laurels including five Ballon d’Or awards. He has also notched up club and international laurels.
He is said to be on the wanted list of Roma, a frontline Serie A team while also his boyhood Portuguese team, Club Sporting Lisbon, is top on his interest.
The 37 year-old Portuguese, according to report, has already commissioned his agent, Jorge Mendes, to move him away from Old Trafford. The news is not altogether a surprise to European football transfer watchers for obvious reasons.
On the one hand, he practically endured a laurel-less 2021-2022 season upon his return to Old Trafford after a successful spell in Italy with Italian giant, Juventus. Though he counted 24 goals across all competition to his credit over the period, he however, ended the season not only without any silverware just as he also failed to secure UEFA Champions League.
