NDLEA Arrests Father of 4 With 20.75kg Black Liquid Cocaine in Makeup Mascara

*Recovers 865.2kg Drugs Smuggled from Benin Republic in Ogun, 30,880 Tablets of Tramadol, Diazepam, Exol-5 in Kaduna

A 52-year-old Okeke Adolphus Anayochukwu, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA Abuja, with black liquid cocaine.

The father of four children, who claims to be a businessman, was arrested with 20.75 kg of the black liquid cocaine on Tuesday, March 15, upon his arrival at the Abuja airport onboard Qatar Airways flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil via Doha, Qatar to Abuja.

First of its kind, the liquid was discovered upon search of his two luggages stuffed with six smaller bags containing 32-makeup mascara, which tested positive to cocaine.

Anayochukwu, an indigene of Oraifiti, Akwusigo council area of Anambra State, claims he deals in children wares before delving into the illicit drug business. He also claims to have met the person who gave him the consignment to deliver in Nigeria for a fee of N2m at a drinking joint in Brazil.

In other operations across the country, NDLEA agents recovered different quantities of various drugs from suspects. At least three persons, Tony Samson, Paul Adamu and Reuben Waziri, were arrested in Kaduna on Friday, March 18, with 18,380 tablets of Tramadol, 12,500 tablets of Diazepam and Exol-5 tablets.

On Thursday, March 17, anti-narcotic agents intercepted a bus with reg. No AGU 460 ZW, at Obosi Bridge, Anambra state, heading to Aba, Abia state. The consignment was said to be from Onitsha. Upon search, seven and half jumbo sacks of cannabis, weighing 362kg, were recovered while the driver, Ifeanyi Anyamele, admitted to be the owner of the drug exhibits.

The previous day, Wednesday March 16, narcotic officers in Ogun state recovered 865.2kg of cannabis sativa around Otapele-Obada road in Imeko-Afon council area. The consignment, brought in from Benin Republic on motorbikes, was for onward transportation to Lagos and Abeokuta.

On the same day, operatives in the state arrested Bello Ibrahim, 38, with 312.4kg of cannabis sativa at Ogere tollgate, Ikenne council area.
