A Lagos High Court, sitting in Ikeja, has ruled that billionaire Kidnapper, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, better known as Evans, will have to spend the remaining part of his life in jail.
The court, presided over by Justice Hakeem Oshodi, also ruled that Evan’s two other accomplices, Uche Amadi and Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu, must serve the same life sentence.
Justice Hakeem Oshodi, who gave the judgement in a 3-hour ruling on Friday, ruled that Evans and two of his co-defendant’s are guilty of conspiracy and kidnapping, particularly as it relates to the kidnap of one Mr Donatius Dunu, Chief Executive Officer CEO, of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Justice Oshodi however, absolved three of his co-defendants, Ogechi Uchechukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi, an ex-soldier; and Victor Aduba, also an ex-soldier, of culpability and were subsequently discharged and acquitted.
According to the judge, there was no evidence linking them to the crimes
