*Caught Burning Girlfriend’s Skull for Money Ritual
POLICEMEN from the Ogun state command on Saturday arrested three young men, Wariz Oladeinde ,17 Abdulgafar Lukman, 19 and Mustakeem Balogun, 20, over the alleged murder and dismemberment of a young girl simply identified as Rofiat, in Oke-Aregba community, Abeokuta, the state capital.
The trio were picked up by the policemen acting on credible report from a member of the community security guard who informed them to that the suspects were burning what appears to be a human head in a local pot in an uncompleted building.
The fourth suspect, believes to be the victim’s boy friend, managed to escaped from the scene but has since been captured in a hideout.
Police sources disclosed that Soliu, Roliat’s boyfriend, lured the resident of Idi-Ape to his room in Oke-Aregba area. Upon her arrival, Roliat was reportedly held down by the quartet with Soliu asking one of his co-conspirators to sever her head off her body with a knife.
Thereafter, they dismembered her and dumped her body in an abandoned building before attempting to burn her head in a clay pot for alleged money ritual.
“We wanted to use just her head alone for money ritual. Soliu strangled her and he told me to assist him and we cut off her head,” one of the ritualists confessed.
The state police command has since confirmed the incident In a statement.
“Three young boys whose ages range between 17and 20 years were in the early hours of Saturday 29th of January 2022 arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for killing a girlfriend of their friend for money making ritual.
“On interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed that what they were burning in the local pot is the head of the girlfriend of their escaped accomplice.
“They confessed further that the girl who was simply identified as Rofiat was lured by her boyfriend simply identified as Soliu to where she was murdered by four of them, after which they cut off her head and packed the remains in a sack, and dumped it in an old building.
“They subsequently led policemen to the building, where the dismembered body was recovered and deposited at general hospital mortuary for autopsy.
“The police have taken the body away to a mortuary.
“The short cutlass and a knife used in cutting off the deceased head were also recovered,” command spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said.
