*Also Arrested A Suspected Bandit With 2 Pistols
OPERATIVES of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested three drug traffickers wearing Nigerian security personnel uniforms to escape scrutiny. The suspects were arrested in Borno state and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, with over 427 kilograms of illicit drugs.
One of them, Yakubu Kotri, who claimed to be a military personnel, was picked up on Wednesday, December 29, driving a gulf car loaded which was loaded with Cannabis Sativa, weighing 208kg. He was on his way to Bama, Borno state.
The other suspect, Salisu Mohammed, dressed in the uniform of another security agency to traffic Tramadol to Bama, was also nabbed by narcotic officers on patrol on the route same day.
Yet in another development, a third impersonator, Dada Adekunle, was on Wednesday, arrested in Abaji area of the FCT, alongside his 60-year-old accomplice, Usman Isa. Both were in possession of cannabis sativa weighing 15.843kg Cannabis.
20kg of the same drug was seized from Alfred Aminu, who was intercepted at Gwagwalada area of the FCT, the same day.
On Tuesday, December 28, 2021, the Plateau state command of the NDLEA intercepted a commercial DAF truck, with registration number GME 874 YX, along Jos-Bauchi Road. Upon search, the truck, transiting from Onitsha, Anambra state, to Mubi, Adamawa state, was found to be carrying 7.8kg of 225mg Tramadol. The consignment of illicit drug was immediately recovered.
In the Yauri area of Bauchi state on the same Tuesday, NDLEA operatives arrested one Shaft’atu Abubakar with 174kg of cannabis and 2.1kg Diazepam, while a suspected bandit, Usman Sani, was arrested in Dan-Anacha town, Gasol council area of Taraba state, with two pistols and ammunition.
