Covid-19: Unvaccinated Civil Servants Barred from Federal Secretariat, Abuja

SECURITY operatives barred unvaccinated persons from gaining access to the federal secretariat, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Affected are mainly civil servants who came to work as usual and other members of the public that had one business or the other to transact at the secretariat. They were for not being vaccinated or showing proof of negative PCR tests.

It would be recalled that the Presidential Steering Committee on Covid-19, PSC, led by secretary to the federal government, Boss Mustapha, had, in October, warned that civil servants without proof of vaccination and negative PCR tests would not be allowed access to government buildings from December 1, 2021.

In reaction to the warning, the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria demanded an extension of the date till March, 2022. But the PSC insisted on its December 1 deadline date, describing the request as impossible.
