Cocain in Lagos Airport Toilet: We Nabbed the Dealer-NDLEA

*Recovers 6,043.857kg Narcotics from Fake Security Agent, Others in Adamawa, Ondo, Ekiti, Edo, Ebonyi

OPERATIVES of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested one Okafor Okwudili Moses, a Brazil-based Nigerian drug dealer over a 2.55kg of cocaine recovered from one of the toilets at the E-Arrival hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja Lagos, on Thursday, November 12, 2021.

Okafor arrived Nigeria on Friday, November 13, via an Ethiopian Airline flight, a day after the consignment was discovered left behind by a trafficker apparently scared of being nabbed.

He was promptly picked up upon arrival by narcotic officers positioned strategically in wait for him at the airport and has since confirmed being the owner of the seized consignment of illicit drug.

In other interdiction operations across the country, NDLEA operatives have recovered over 6,043.857 kg of assorted illicit drugs in five states, including Adamawa, Ondo, Ekiti, Edo and Ebonyi. More than two hectares of cannabis farms were incinerated during the operation.

In one of the operations, narcotic agents arrested one Abdullahi Mohammed, who turned out to be a fake security agent, attached in one of the security outfits in Mubi, Adamawa state, with four blocks of Cannabis Sativa. Abdullahi, who was arrested along Bazza- Michika road, had on him 4kg of the illicit consignment.

NDLEA operatives also arrested four other suspects at different locations in Jimeta, Yola North council area of the state, with assorted illicit substances, including Cannabis, Diazepam, Exol- 5 and Tramadol tablets.

In Ondo state, three persons, including Alabi Idowu, Oluwatomipe Olorundare and Finity Sunday, were arrested on Monday, November 15, with a total of 2,771kg of Cannabis recovered from them at Oke Ogun camp, Ipele, Owo council area. Also arrested is a 59-year-old Mrs. Joy Peter, who was picked up with over 39kg cannabis and Tramadol tablets on Wednesday, November 17.

In Ekiti state, over 2, 832kg of drugs were seized with more than two hectares of cannabis farms destroyed in parts just as 2,582kg of Cannabis was recovered from Itapaji forest, Ipao, Ikole council area

Similarly, 250kg of cannabis was seized from Ise forest, Ise-Orun council area on Thursday, November 18, where the cannabis farm was also destroyed.

29-year-old Ivoh Chukwuemeka, accompanied by his girlfriend, Ogbonna Peace, 18, was intercepted along Enugu-Abakaliki expressway, Ebonyi state, with 20.357kg cannabis on Friday November 29 while 377.5kg of the same substance was seized from at least two suspects, Lucky Okhian and Aaron Monday, in Owan West council area, including another seizure Okpokhumi forest, Owan East council area of Edo state.

“We are proving to the bad guys and merchants of death that we’ll not stay a step ahead of them but two steps in this game, and this we must sustain as we prepare to go into the new year,” Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, Retd, said while reacting to the arrest of Okafor and the exploits of operatives of the agency across the state.
