FBI Nabs Three Nigerians Over $1.4million Fraud


THE United States’ “Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has picked up three young Nigerians for allegedly defrauding Arizona California, North Carolina, of $1.4m, about N580m, Jobless Benefit Claims.

The agency arrested Quazeem Owolabi Adeyinka, Ayodeji Jonathan Sangode and Olamide Yusuf Bakare after being caught by security cameras of Automated Teller Machines, ATM, withdrawing huge sum of money.

Bank of America, BofA, records also indicate that 175 prepaid cards worth more than $1.4 million total from Maryland, allegedly depleted through purchases, transfers and ATM withdrawals, were sent to the suspects’ addresses.

All the transactions were allegedly conducted in California, Florida and Maryland with ATM withdrawals alone amounting to over $989,000

In one of BofA’s footages, Sangode’s Hyundai car was seen at one of the bank’s drive-through ATM in Maryland, with the driver having striking semblance to Sangode, based on a comparison using his MD driver’s license photo, the indictment says.

In another footage, an individual that appeared to be Adeyinka, based on a comparison with his driver’s license photo, withdrew $1,000, cash using BofA-EDD debit card ending in 2312, in the name of K.K. at the Landover Hills Bank of America ATM, located at 7515 Annapolis Road, Hyattsville, Maryland.

More BofA records show that another individual looking like Bakare, based on his driver’s license photo, withdrew cash, using the 7990 BofA-EDD debit-card, at a BofA ATM located at 10200 Lake Arbor Way, Mitchellville, Maryland.

Other footages showed withdrawals at different dates, involving different volumes, in which all three individuals were identified.
