22 Girls Abducted in Niger Community

AGAIN, suspected Boko Haram gunmen were on rampage in another part of Rafi council area of Niger state. Confirmed reports say the gunmen on Thursday, abducted a total of 22 girls in Kurebe community during an overnight invasion purportedly for forced marriage.

Sources disclosed that the sect had earlier informed the community to withdraw the girls from school as they, sect members, would be coming to take them away.

They added that the group leader, identified as Malam Sadiku, has been preaching dangerous Islamic doctrines in the community and environs over the course of for several months, adding that though the community reported the development to relevant authorities, no action has been taken.

”They actually carried out their threat without any resistance or any security check,” a source lamented.

    There have numerous abductions in Rafi LGA and majority women are held hostage but Kurebe is a community in neighboring Shiroro LGA
