Ihiala Supplementary Poll: Soldiers Stop Umeh Entry

Some Armed soldiers this afternoon stopped and blocked senator Victor Umeh from entering the Ihiala Council of the state apparently for the scheduled supplementary governorship election held there today.

Umeh, agent of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state, was blocked from Ihiala Local Government Area during the mobilsation of electoral officials.

Accompanied by aides, Umeh, who alongside other party bigwigs and election agents had in part readiness for the Ihiala election spent the night at the INEC Headquarters, Awka, during the collation of results of 20 Local Government Areas, was stopped by soldiers.

Senator Umeh was told by a top officer that he has no business in Ihiala, hence would not be allowed passage. The officer also refused to listen to his explanation or reasons.
