*As PDP Commences Recovery of Nigeria With Anambra Election

It was indeed mother of all rallies as virtually all the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors led by Govs Okezie Ikpeazu, Seyi Makinde and Ifeanyi Okowa and other bigwigs from all parts of the country besieged Awka to lend heavy weight to the aspiration of the party’s flagbearer -Chief Valentine Ozigbo in the Saturday’s Governorship election in Anambra state.
Dr Alex Ekwueme square, the venue of the rally witnessed an unprecedented crowd as never have been seen in recent time as the PDP came all out to make a resounding statement.
Enthusiastic crowd from all communities and Councils started trooping into the venue of the rally as early as 9.00am when the authorities opened the entrances to the arena, to be part of the epoch making event.
Besides the governors, the deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shuabu, PDP BoT members, National Assembly members and other eminent personalities including former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State graced the occasion.
In her welcome address, the chairman of Valentine Ozigbo Campaign Council, Distinguish Senator Uche Ekwunife said that PDP has done her home work ahead of the November 6 governorship election, hence has very high optimism that Ozigbo, the PDP candidate will emerge victorious on Saturday.
Gov Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State in his comments noted that PDP is set to take over Nigeria back and that the take over journey will commence with Anambra State.
He therefore appealed for unity among the party hierarchy and that everyone in the state should join Valentine Ozigbo in his bid to rebuild Anambra State.
The deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shuabu in his speech urged Ndi-Anambra to vote for youthfulness by voting for the PDP candidate, pointing out that fate of the state cannot be left in hands of retirees who needed the office of the governor as gratuity.
A member of BoT of PDP, Sen. Ben Ndi-Obi pleaded with Anambra people to maintain the momentum of the governorship debate that held on Monday by voting for Ozigbo on Saturday.
The Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde said that the Anambra State governorship election is not a battle between the good or evil but a battle between the best material and others.
He urged the good people of Anambra State to come together and say never again will they vote for wrong persons on the altar of emotions and sentiments.
The Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu said that Anambra people with her large volume of wise people should not continue to occupy the back quarters of underdevelopment.
He pointed out that the thirteenth PDP governors are hundred percent in support of Mr Valentine Ozigbo noting that the individuals who have the mandate of the presidency to take over Anambra State have failed.
Gov Ikpeazu described the PDP candidate, Ozigbo as a mature personality who will work for the betterment of the State.
The former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi in his remarks recalled what he saw as a five star governance he gave the state and noted that Ozigbo would do more.
He therefore urged Ndi-Anambra to vote massively for the PDP candidate, “because he is the best man to take the state to the promised land.”
Ozigbo used the occasion to present his ‘Ka Anambra Chawapu’ package to the world at the rally.
He reassured the people of better days ahead if they give him their mandate on Saturday.
Gov Ikpeazu assisted by other party chieftains handed over the party flag to Ozigbo.
