BARRING any last minute hitch, Wilfred Ndidi, Nigeria’s rising midfield maestro may be on his way to Old Trafford at the opening of the January transfer window.
According to Spanish publications Fichajes, the Red Devils, as United is often referred to cynically, is the subject of keen interest as the Old Trafford family wants to make him a member when the January transfer market opens. He is needed to stabilize the club’s wobbly midfield.
Though United spent heavily in shoring up the team during the last transfer season, the defensive midfield position has however, remained its albatross over the last few seasons. For the now however, United’s policy makers and fans’ seem united in the believe that Ndidi is the likely fit to play the stabilizing role given his pedigree as one of the best defensive midfielders in not just the Premier League but also the world.
The only snag is that the 24 year-old Nigeria may cost a fortune considering his current €66m price tag.
