Human Growth Hormone Use: Okagbare In Trouble Again

*Faces Three New Charges

NIGERIAN’s female sprint sensation, Blessing Okagbare-Otegheri, may be heading for more troubles following her suspension from the recently concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Okagbare who won her 100m heat at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics before being suspended from the game after testing positive for a human growth hormone.

Reports say that the Beijing 2008 long jump silver medalist is facing facing the possibility of more sanctions following discovery that she may have used performance-enhancing drugs.

In particular, she is facing a new three-count charge over allegations by the Athletics Integrity Unit, AIU, that she used Recombinant Erythropoietin, EPO, another banned substance which increases red blood cell count.

She is also being accused of not cooperating with the AIU’s investigation, having failed to comply with a formal requirement to produce relevant documents, records and electronic storage devices” to the investigation.

She has however, denied all charges.
