Okolie Retains WBO Cruiserweight Title in Style

*Knocks Out Prasovic in Round 3

Lawrence Okorie, the second of the Nigerian undercard at Anthony Joshua’s title defence against Oleksandr Usyk, has knocked out his opponent, Dilan Prasovic, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium arena, London, to retain his WBO cruiserweight belt.
The fight is Okolie’s first title defence since he won the vacant WBO cruiserweight title after dispatching Krzysztof Głowacki in their London encounter in March.
Looking smart and businesslike, Okolie gave early indication of his intention in the second round when he sent Pravosi crashing to the canvass. He did so with a sharp right shot to the chin before landing an uppercut. He however, couldn’t end the fight with time running out on the count.
But he was intent on ending the fight on a quick note as he rammed some hammer-like jabs on Pravosic mid section, which did real damages to the rib cage of the Montenegro native forcing the fight to an end.
The knockout is Okolie’s 14th of 17 fights since he joined the pro rank.
