YeePee! Gulder Ultimate Search Is Back

After a seven year hiatus, the once popular reality television show, Gulder Ultimate Search, GUS, is coming back to the television screen. The announcement was made in Lagos on Wednesday the Nigerian Breweries, NB, Plc, by organizers of the programme.
While briefing newsmen on the return of the reality programme , Corporate Affairs Director, Nigerian Breweries, Plc, Sade Morgan, disclosed that the reality programme is staging a comeback due to popular demands by Nigerians.
“We are really excited to be bringing back the Gulder Ultimate Search for the viewing pleasure of Nigerians who have, over the years, continued to call for the return of the show.”
The reality show, which dominated the country’s airwaves until it was rested seven years ago, was one of the most watched programmes on television. However, with the return of the new version, aptly tagged ‘Age of Craftsmanship’, is set to recreate old memories and give other reality shows a run for their money.
Morgan explained that registration for the event is scheduled to take off immediately but that the first screening exercise will take place in Abuja on September 13, followed by the Lagos version which takes place three days later with its premiere on television billed for October 16 to run till its grand finale on December 19.
Organizers say the new season 7 is opened to Nigerian youths between ages 21 to 35 years who must register online via They are to submit their applications before September 8, via the GUS website with all their personal details and an attached photograph .
Shortlisted applicants will undergo regional selection process in both Abuja and Enugu on September 13 and 14 while national selection will take place in Lagos on September 16 and 17.
Though Gulder Ultimate Search 7 will be aired on DSTV and other local stations across the country, the anchor is yet to be announced for once crowd pulling programme which began with a N3m prize-tag until it was raised to N10m and a brand new SUV before it went into a hiatus in 2016.
Morgan assured however, that organizers of the programme are ready to give Nigerians the satisfaction they are used to with the new Gulder Ultimate Search, GUS.
“The planning team has put in place everything necessary to give the fans exactly what they enjoy about the show and I am confident that everyone will be pleasantly surprised and delighted with what we have in store,” Morgan disclosed.
