Emerging reports indicate that unknown gunmenn suspected to be bandits have successfully attacked the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, killing two officers and abducting one other. According to the reports, the incident occurred midnight shortly after the bandit reportedly bridged the school’s Afaka permanent site’s perimeter fence, in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
The bandits were said to have begun shooting sporadically immediately on gaining access after which they successfully abducted an unconfirmed number of officers now put at one, and killing of another Lt CDR O. S Owolor and FLT C. M Okoronkwo.
Another officer, Maj C. L Datong is also reported missing.
A release from Headquarters 1, DISFORCE which gave sparse details of the incident, indicate that troops are already on the trail of the bandits. The release which promised more details in due course, noted that “Area is Cool and Calm.”
