Bomb Material: Troops Nab Boko Haram Supplier


Troops of the Nigerian Army Sector 2 Joint Task Force, North East Operation, Hadin Kai, OPHK, have arrested one Yusuf Saleh, who is alleged to be a major supplier of Urea Fertilizers, a bomb making material, to Islamic insurgents, Boko Haram. The arrest was made known in a statement issued by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, on Friday.
According to the statement, Salah was picked up in Bayamari village in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe state with a total haul of 38 units of 50Kg bags of Urea fertilizers following a tip off. He is said to be in custody and helping investigators with useful information.
“Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have been commended for their vigilance and swift response in arresting the suspect.
They are also encouraged not to allow any form of distraction from the marauding terrorists, whose ranks have suffered acute manpower depletion as a result of ongoing kinetic and none kinetic operations conducted by troops,” the statement by the Army spokesperson read in part.
The army urged the people to keep availing its frontline troops with actionable information that would enhance the execution of the ongoing counter insurgency operations in the region.
