RMAFC Begins Revenue Mobilization Campaign

*Edo State Campaign Tees Off Thursday.

The Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, has begun a nation-wide sensitization campaign. This was disclosed on Friday by it chairman, Engr Elias Mbam.
According to the chairman, the sensitization and Mobilization programs became necessary in view of the need to bequeath an acceptable, equitable and fair revenue allocation formula for the country.
The chairman explained further that towards achieving the sensitization goal, the commission embarked on an extensive sensitization program, part of which is to conduct a nation-wide consultation with all stakeholders with a view to harmonizing their aggregate views for a new and generally acceptable revenue allocation formula.
“…the commission has commenced the process of reviewing the subsisting revenue formula. In view of the sensitive nature, the socio-economic and security implications, and the desire to bequeath an acceptable, equitable and fair revenue allocation for the country, the commission, as part of its strategy, has adopted the modality for wider consultation nationwide with major stakeholders…,” the statement read in part.
The statement added that once the statewide consultation is concluded, the commission will embark on the second phase, which involves zonal sensitization tour.
Meanwhile, RMAFC is already in Edo state for the sensitization program. Among other state functionaries, the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, is billed to be the special guest of honour.
