Britney’s Lingering Control Ordeal Ends

*As Dad Agrees to Step Down as Conservator

The conservatorship battle between James Jamie Spears and his daughter, pop icon, Britney, appears to be heading for an end at last. Reliable reports quoting court filings, say that Jamie has agreed to step down as her estate’s conservator which he has controlled since she suffered a mental health breakdown since 2008.
“Mr. Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator,” the court filing added.
Britney’s lawyer, who described Jamie’s decision as, “…a major victory for Britney Spears and another step toward justice”, made the disclosure in a court filed statement on Thursday, said that Jamie agreed to step aside from his long time responsibilities as the conservator of her daughter’s estate.
“We are pleased that Mr. Spears and his lawyer have today conceded in a filing that he must be removed,” the singer’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart said in a statement on Thursday.
Britney and her father have been on each other’s throat with the latter citing her father’s over bearing control which gives her no personal liberty at all. For months, the battle to remove her father from having any control over her affairs rage with a Los Angeles court hearing to discuss it scheduled September.
Britney Spears, 39, who has been fighting to have her father removed from having any control over her estate still remains under the care of a personal conservator, professional Jodi Montgomery. Though the nature of the singer’s mental health issues has never been publicly, revealed, she is also known to be against the control of the court appointed convervatorship which regards as abusive and humiliating, insisting that she wants to regain control of her finances and life decisions.
