Britney Spears’s father, Jamie Spears, is no longer just and taking flaks from his daughter and her supporters over her bid to extricate herself from his alleged strangulation conservatorship hold which gives him the authority to controls her finance and general affairs. Jamie, who has been largely defensive has lashed back at his daughter and legal representative, insisting there is no grounds whatsoever for removing him from the conservatorship, describing the singer as ‘mentally sick’.
Jamie stated in a court filing that his daughter is desperately struggling with her mental health, so much that her court-appointed professional, Jodi Montgomery, has also recommended that she be taken to a health facility on an emergency psychiatric hold.

Jamie added that a distraught Montgomery had called him last month to seek help over his daughter’s mental health struggles. According to Jamie, the Court-appointed Montgomery explained to him that Britney was not taking her medications properly and also refused to see some of her doctors, adding that the pop star was ‘spiralling out of control’.
But in what seems to be a rebuttal, Montgomery, through her lawyer explained that Jamie Spears ‘misrepresented and manipulated’ the call to use it to his own advantage’
In court documents filed in Los Angeles on Friday,

However, Jamie’s court filings is coming as Britney’s former bodyguard, Fernando Flores, claimed she is living ‘like an inmate in a golden prison’ because the singer’s phone calls are monitored and she is not allowed out unsupervised. The bodyguard alleged the 39-year-old pop superstar is being forced to ask for permission to spend her money and is also banned from contacting her close friends.
Jamie insists the call for his urgent removal is ‘ironic’ considering Montgomery’s SOS to him on July 9.
“Ms. Montgomery sounded very distraught and expressed how concerned she was about my daughters’ recent behavior and overall mental health. Ms. Montgomery explained that my daughter was not timely or properly taking her medications, was not listening to the recommendations of her medical team, and refused to even see some of her doctors. Ms. Montgomery said she was very worried about the direction my daughter was heading in and directly asked for my help to address these issues,” Jamie maintains in a personal declaration included with his court filing.
Though Montgomery acknowledged having concerns about Britney Spears’ behavior and mental health in a statement through her attorney, Lauriann Wright, she added however that Jamie’s stepping down would only help.
According to Montgomery’s statement,
“…having her father Jamie Spears continuing to serve as her Conservator instead of a neutral professional fiduciary is having a serious impact on Ms. Spears’ mental health.”
The statement added that at no time during the phone call did Montgomery suggest Britney qualifies for a psychiatric hold.
Meanwhile, a hearing to address the petition to remove Jamie is scheduled for Sept. 29. Except however, the judge grants his request to hold one sooner.
