NDLEA Nabs Woman With Illicit Drugs


*Uses Multiple Identity to Evade Prying Eyes
Luck ran out of Chioma Afam, a lady with multiple identity as NDLEA operatives arrested her for being in possession of 296,000 tabs of Diazepam and Exol-5 from Onitsha, Anambra state, to Gombe state.
Mrs Afam, 36, was who also wears hijab to evade security scrutiny, was nabbed with her partner in crime, one Peace Chidinma Caleb, in Benue state.
According to a release made available to newsmen by the Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, on Wednesday, Afam, also known with such multiple identities as Amina, Uzoamaka and Ifunaya to mask her criminal activities was arrested on Saturday July 17, along with the 22-year-old Peace Chidinma, another hijab decked dealer during routine checks and profiling of inward vehicles into Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
The statement added that their vehicle was intercepted along Makurdi-Alliade road, while heading to Gombe State via Makurdi after which a routine check yielded 43kg of Diazepam and 33kg of Exol-5 packed in four large size ‘Ghana must go’ bags.
In another development, operatives of the Ondo state command intercepted one Olu Ameh, a commercial bike operator with 465kg of cannibis along Ijagba-Ute road in Ose local government area of the state.
The agency disclosed that Ameh was conveying the consignment to one Egbonwon who allegedly bought same from a certain Joseph in Ago-Akure, Akure North local government area and was being conveyed to the buyer, a certain Egbonwon at Ijagba village in Ose LGA.
