A 38 year-old Nebraska woman, Christina Greer, has been sentenced to a total of 102 years behind bars after being found guilty of sexually abusing minors between the ages of 12 and 23. She was alleged to have spiced their meals with cannabis sativa edibles and subsequently groomed them as sex tools.
Ms Greer who is described as the “sick mum from Sarpy County” Nebraska, US, will not be qualified to apply for release until she has served, at least, 64 years of the sentence.
According Sarpy County Attorney’s Office, Ms Greer was, on Monday, handed over the sentence on three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of witness tampering and six counts of child abuse, according to the Sarpy.
Court documents indicated that Ms Greer had sleepovers at her home during which she gave the children marijuana edibles and groomed two boys who were 12 and 13 years at the time, to have sex with her.
“Having sex with an adult female is thought of, that’s the cool kid of the group. It’s just not the case in these situations. They’ve been bullied, transferred schools multiple times. It’s just unfortunate they have to continue to deal with it,” Sarpy County Deputy Attorney, Phil Kleine said after passing the sentence.
Police picked up Greer after receiving a report to the effect that she had sex with one of the boys between September 2017 and December 2017. In January 2019, another boy came forward with similar allegations after which a child enticement charge was added to Greer’s list of charges in August.
“Now our victims are 15, 16 years old. One of them just got a driver’s license. Now they’re going to have to deal with this for the rest of their lives. Any relationship will have trust issues due to what she did to them,” Kleine added.
Ms Greer who was allowed to address the court with an apology through a flow of tears, told the court that she is “so ashamed and sorry” for what happened. She added that as a mother, she realises it was her duty to protect her children, noting that she has now “failed”.
While sentencing her, Judge Kleine said Greer left a “wake of destruction” for the victims and their families. The victims, he added, “lost their childhood” because of her.
“She groomed them. She formed emotional relationships with (the) kids to take advantage of them,” Mr Kleine said.
Ms Greer will be in her early 80s when she’s eligible for parole in 2068.
