RCCG Pastor Nabbed for Theft in Dublin
Security operatives in County Kildare, west of Dublin, Northern Island, have arrested a Nigerian, Ebenezer Oduntan, for allegedly stealing €70,000, about N40.9m.
Oduntan, a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, allegedly pinched the said funds over an eight-year period.
A court statement on Thursday, July 1, the office of the director of corporate enforcement, ODCE, stated that Oduntan, 55, who resides at the Close, Curragh Grange, Newbridge, Co Kildare, was picked up by the police and charged at Newbridge Garda Station on Thursday morning and subsequently rought to Naas District Court where he was slammed with 30 charges of theft, four of furnishing false information and five more of providing incorrect information. The charges were sequel to investigations conducted by the ODCE in relation to alleged misappropriation of monies from the company and church of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, City of David, based in Toughers Business Park, Naas Co Kildare.
Oduntan who has been remanded on bail, is billed to appear again at Naas District Court in November for service of a book of evidence.
