*Ordered back in court on July 26
Self acclaimed lader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has been arrested. News of his arrest and subsequent extradiction on Sunday was broken by the Attorney-General while speaking with newsmen.
According to the AGM, Kanu’s arrest and subsequent extradition were made possible following a collaborative effort between Interpol and the Nigerian security agencies.
Confirmed reports also have it that the IPOB leader has since made say a cameo appearance in court where he was ordered to appear again on July 26 for the continuation of his abandoned trial.
While in court, Kanu sought the permission for an address which was immediately granted by the presiding judge. He used the opportunity to explain why he jumped bail and subsequently from the country. According to him, the decision was informed by the Invasion of his house, an action he concluded was part of the plan by the government to eliminate him.
Since then however, he is alleged to have been fuelling the Biafran agitation leading to the formation of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, which many regard as IPOB’s military wing.
