Josephine Onche, who was just a few days away from her wedding in 2019, was reporting missing by her family after failing to return from the market where she had gone to purchase some items for her wedding. However, the remains of the late Oyukpa local government area born Onche was found when her fiance led security agents to a shallow grave where he dumped her body after murdering her.
Ms Onche’s body was found and exhumed last week from a shallow grave in a neighbouring Otukpo council area following the arrest of her would-be husband. His arrest was reportedly facilitated by a motor biker rider who went to the family to report that he knew what happened to the deceased about two years ago. She was allegedly killed for ritual purposes.
Family sources revealed that “The okada man led security operatives to arrest her fiance, who is an Igbo man, and he led the police to Ogun State, where they arrested a native doctor, who performed a ritual with the woman in the Obi Local Government Area of Benue State, before returning to Ogun State.”
The remains of Ms Onche has since been properly reburried in her home town, Otukpa.
